As we near the end of our six weeks with the theme: How We Organize Ourselves, The Fantastic Frogs are preparing to open a business. The students have developed a good that they feel there will be a demand for. We have discussed pricing, supply, and who are consumers will be. Next, we need to advertise to create a demand for our products.
Spelling Bee
The First Day of 2011!
We were very busy today! We started with a math problem that involved the whole class. We definitely did a lot of talking mathematically! Next we explored the idea of perimeter. However, this time the perimeter had to be a certain number of units and we had to figure it out. The Fantastic Frogs did a great job problem solving and working together. What a great way to start the new year!
Happy 2011!!
Here is a peak at what our third graders want to accomplish in the new year!
*become an expert at researching
*talk mathematically
*master reading
*skip count
*improve on listening and staying focused on the teacher
*need to be a risk-taker
Visit to Sheltering Arms
Our visit to Sheltering Arms was a huge success. Thank you parents for helping to make it happen. Once The Fantastic Frogs thought about doing something for someone else - the ideas kept flowing. Not only did they want to bring items to donate they wanted to perform for the people. First, we decide Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was a fun choice and then Silent Night. Well, everyone is learning Silent Night in strings class so they decided to bring their instruments along. In the end, it turned out to be a magical performance! The students were so proud that they made someone else happy.
They are already talking about what they could do next!
