Last week we learned all about graphing. We gathered data about our first names and made a tally chart. Next, we took the information from the tally chart and created a bar graph. Then we made it a little more interesting by using manipulatives to represent the value of our names based on an alphabet chart. The resulting bar graph was very interesting. We could easily determine who miscounted, whose name was longest (Christopher-103 cubes!) and whose name was shortest (Cami- 27 cubes). We also discovered easy ways to count large quantities of things. Way to go, Fantastic Frogs!
