Did You Know?

The Navigators wrote a poem about the United States that required audience participation!   Here it is:

Did You Know - The United States of America had 13 colonies ruled by the King of England.

Audience:  No, I didn't know

The thirteen colonies were established between 1607-1732.

Audience:  No, I didn't know

The USA has fifty states but only 48 are connected together. 

Audience:  No, I didn't know

The USA has a bunch of land forms such as:  mountains, rivers and valleys.

Audience:  No, I didn't know

The official flower of the United States is the rose and the official tree is the oak tree.

Audience:  No, I didn't know

There are monuments that represent the USA.  Two famous ones are the Washington Monument and the Statue of Liberty.

Audience:  No, I didn't know

America's flag has 50 stars to represent the 50 states.  The 13 stripes represent the 13 colonies. 

Audience:  No, I didn't know
