Race to the Moon is the story of the Apollo 11 flight. We practiced asking "thick and thin" questions with this non-fiction book. A "thin" question is a question that is easily found such as: What year was the flight? A "thick" question is a question that you have to think about such as: Why are Neil Armstrong's footprints still on the moon? We then created a story bag with a picture clue on the front to be used to retell the events of Apollo 11. When I asked the students why we were doing this project they replied, "because we need to learn and it should be fun!"Race To The Moon
