The Unveiling of the Magic Pen

We waited all week to open that beautifully wrapped box.  No one knew what was inside!  All the first grade teachers, Ms. Kristal, and Mr. Nguyen could not figure it out.  We found a secret note on the bottom of the box, but it said we couldn't open it until Friday!  Here's what happened when we finally got to open it after the awards were finished.

The MagicPen

Here is a short video clip of The Superheroes performance of The Magic Pen.  The Magic Pen is a poem that was written by the class.  Next, they found a way to dramatize it!  The end result is priceless!

Postcards from First Grade

Here is a glimpse of some of the amazing postcard memories created by your first graders!  They did such a great job creating lasting memories to put in each students pocket.   We can not wait until the whole class is finished because then we finally get to share all the memories.

Awards Day!!

Yes, it's time to start thinking about the end of our time together.  The students are practicing accepting awards and then perfecting a performance for the parents.  The awards will begin at 12:15 followed by the class performance.  Then The Superheroes will take a little recess break while the parents set up for the end of the party!  Looking forward to our last Friday together.

Math Stations

The Superheroes are still working hard during math stations.  Each student has learned to recognize their strengths and weakness and create goals accordingly.  Each day they are given 30 minutes to work where they choose to help them succeed.  It is exciting to see how engage they are with their work and how proud they are to share their goals!

Sharing The Planet

As the month of May begins to dwindle and our time begins to run out... The Superheroes are still being inquirers!  We are working on our last planner:  Sharing The Planet.  The students are learning about resources and how to preserve them.

Memory Boards

The Memory Boards are finished!  The Superheroes are so excited.  Now comes the hard part - writing a memory card for everyone in our class.  Every night for homework we get to create a one of a kind postcard for our friends.   As the last week of first grade approaches. the students will all have 24 postcards.  The memory boards are now decorating our classroom and it looks fantastic!

Ms. Musters is Missing

One Day Ms. Musters was not in the classroom!  Her students decided to write stories that would explain where she could possibly be!
